A MAN UNDERGOES SUCCESSFUL ANAL FISTULECTOMY SURGERY AT SOLID ROCK HOSPITAL

Solid Rock Hospital recently treated a 35-year-old man diagnosed with an Anal Fistula, a condition that creates an abnormal connection between the anus and surrounding tissues. 

The patient had a successful Anal Fistulectomy, a surgical procedure to treat the condition.

The mid-aged man was admitted to the hospital on the morning of November 26th, 2024. Pre-operative bowel preparation and blood tests were done. Consent form was also signed.

The procedure began at 9:30am on November 27th, 2024, and ended in due time. Doctors used spinal anesthesia to ensure the patient’s comfort during the operation.

A 7-YEAR-OLD GIRL RECEIVES TIMELY DENTAL CARE AT SOLID ROCK HOSPITAL

A 7-year-old girl successfully had a procedure at Solid Rock Hospital at about 2pm on November 19, 2024, to alleviate mild tooth pain that had persisted for three months. The young patient was brought to the clinic experiencing significant discomfort and a loose tooth. Upon examination, the dentist diagnosed a retained deciduous tooth, a condition where a primary tooth fails to fall out as expected.

After a thorough assessment, the parents consented to the necessary procedure. The child had scaling and polishing prior to local anesthesia and subsequently had the affected tooth extracted.

The procedure was completed at approximately 2:40 PM on the same day. The girl had a post operative care. Post operative medications were prescribed and post operative counseling were given to the parent. The child is to be brought back for review in 3 months.

A PRIMIGRAVIDA PATIENT DELIVERED TO MALE TWINS AT SOLID ROCK HOSPITAL

A 29-year-old pregnant woman successfully delivered male twins at Solid Rock Hospital on 29th of October 2024. The woman, a primigravida, was admitted to the facility on 28th of October 2024 at approximately 7:30 PM after experiencing a leakage of amniotic fluid.

Upon admission, the woman was monitored closely by medical staff, including a gynecologist. As her condition progressed, she began experiencing uterine contractions. At 6:30 AM, she was fully dilated, and the first twin was delivered at 6:33 AM. The second twin followed shortly after, arriving at 6:45 AM.

A PREECLAMPSIA PATIENT WAS DELIVERED OF A BABY BOY AT SOLID ROCK HOSPITAL

Mid-day of the 23rd of August 2024. A pregnant woman in her third trimester came for routine ANC visit.  The pregnant woman was seen by a specialist doctor (Gynaecologist) and was diagnosed with preeclampsia (elevated blood pressure and protein in urine). Abdominopelvic scan was done, which revealed placenta insufficiency due to elevated blood pressure.

NB: The placenta is an organ that forms in the womb. It is connected to the baby by the umbilical cord from which oxygen and nutrient gets to the baby during pregnancy. 

She was admitted for BP stabilization and a special injection was given to improve the function of the baby’s lungs. After about 20 hours the BP was stabilized, she was scheduled for an emergency Caesarean Section for a pregnancy that was just about 32 weeks.

The CS was successfully done, and the baby was delivered. The baby is a boy, and he weighs 1.7kg. The baby was kept in the incubator because he was born prematurely (born before due time).

NB: The incubator is a machine that keeps a baby warm.
